KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) will collaborate with the world’s third largest construction machinery manufacturer, Sany Group, to introduce advanced industrialised building system (IBS) technology in Sabah. Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe disclosed this after a recent visit to Changsha, China, and meetings with Sany Group Rotating Chairman Tang Xiuguo.
During the meeting, Tang shared with Phoong that Sany Group has been collaborating with several companies in the peninsula and had established discussions with Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming, earlier this year.Sany Group plans to continue collaborating with PR1MA Corporation to build more affordable homes across Malaysia.
Tang added that Malaysia is the first country where the Sany Group initiated overseas collaboration on industrialised building technology. He expressed optimism about the success of the project in Sabah, acknowledging Sabah’s potential and opportunities. Phoong toured four factories, including Sany Group’s latest Prime Mover Production Line, Miluo Precast Factory, No.18 lighthouse factory and a factory producing solar panels.
